‘Tis the Season for Fall Foliage! Fall Foliage will be in its prime from mid September through October. Come check out the beautiful hues of color in the Catskill Mountains while staying at the rustic Scribner Hollow Lodge. One upcoming event at Hunter Mountain is Colors in the Catskills which will take place on October 1st,2nd, & 3rd. Colors in the Catskills is an awesome and FREE biking event at Hunter Mountain.

At Colors in the Catskills there will be beer, bands, bikes, and the open road! Take a guided ride through ski trails or if you prefer asphalt, ride through the miles of roads in the area. BMW will be there and have Dirt Bike Riding clinics as well as bringing their National Demo Trailer.

When you are done riding, park your bike at the Scribner Hollow Lodge!

Windham Mountain

Windham Mountain is located close to the Scribner Hollow Lodge. Windham Mountain has fantastic ski runs for every expertise level. Beginners can go on the Wooly Bear run and sharpen their skills, while experts can head to Upper Wheelchair for a challenge and exhilarating run.

Some upcoming events at Windham Mountain include the World Cup Downhill Mountain Bike Course being opened to the public, Pat Meehan Scholarship Walk/Run/Crawl, and Homecoming Weekend And Windham Chamber Autumn Affair.

The Scribner Hollow Lodge is the perfect place to stay when you are attending the 2010 Hudson Valley Garlic Festival. Festivities begin on September 25th from 10 a.m. until 6p.m. and continue September 26th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Situated in the Catskill Mountains on the Hudson River, this festival is hosted at Cantine Field in Saugerties New York. Started by Pat Reppert, the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival has been delighting its visitors since 1989.

There are many wonderful things to do at the festival. Go to the Garlic Marketplace with its enormous amounts of gourmet garlic. Check out the arts crafts aisles which will also have garlic inspired pieces! Arts and crafts booths will be selling everything from aprons, jewelry, hats, note cards, pottery, quilts, to tables and MORE!

Children will enjoy the Children’s Craft Tent where they can decorate plump pumpkins, get their faces painted, or climb a rock wall. In addition, there will be tons of great entertainment including Sundad, The Barefoot Boys, and Mark Rust. It will be an educational weekend too, with lecturers and chefs giving their insights into great garlic dishes.

Tickets for the Hudson Garlic Festival are only $10 and children 12 and under are FREE!

This September 25th & 26th come stay at the Scribner Hollow Lodge while going to the Hunter NY Wine and Brew Festival. Hunter Mountain’s annual Wine and Brew Fest is the perfect place for your perceptive pallet. With over 40 different types of beer and 10 wineries confirmed there will be plenty to sample!

Going to the Wine and Brew Fest grounds is FREE! Tickets for the wine area and a Wine and Brew Fest tasting glass are $20. Your ticket will give you three ways to enjoy the festival. It can give you access to Colonel’s Hall for wine tasting or 10 tokens to sample beer. If you’d like to sample both then your ticket can instead be used for 5 beer tokens and a wine tasting bracelet.

In addition to the great tasting, there will also be a fresh farmer’s market, fabulous foods, as well as arts and crafts booths. Don’t forget about excellent entertainment! George Kilby Jr. and Rt. 23A Band will be entertainment for the Fest.
