We are happy to let our friends know that Scribner Hollow is looking great and open for business. Despite the severe impact of Hurricane Irene on our nearest neighbors in Windham and Prattsville, we were fortunate that our hilltop location did not expose us to the flooding here in Hunter that other communities experienced. All our main roads are open and Scribner is decorated for the Fall Season and ready to receive our guests to celebrate the splendor of Autumn in the Mountains.
Hunter Mountain is also open and conducting business as usual. We can’t think of anything more exhilarating than taking the Zip Line Tour through the Fall Foliage. If you prefer to take in the sights at a slower pace, then the Sky Ride is right up your alley. So make your reservations now to take advantage of the breathtaking sights of Fall in the Catskills and the numerous Festivals that are taking place soon.
Each year, travelers from across the nation arrive in New York to experience the unparalleled bounty and beauty of a fabled autumn in the State. Our particular geography (going from sea level to 4,000 foot altitude vistas in a 15 minute ride) make a spectacular display of vibrant fall colors available for an unusually long viewing period.
The foliage in New York State–with its leaves of every possible shade of red, yellow, gold and orange–is legendary. Thickly-wooded rolling hills and steep mountainsides create a fiery patchwork of colors against an azure sky that is simply unforgettable.
The Catskills Region and Hudson Valley offer stunning and breath-taking views you can take advantage of. Visitors can also consider visiting the Vanderbilt Mansion or Hyde Park and marvel in the National Historic sites, as well as Culinary Institute of America, where the next generation of chefs train with the masters.
New York State offers an ideal place to experience the Autumn Fall, with numerous festivals to celebrate this season, so do not miss out on what New Yorkers already know, New York State is the Jewel of Autumn in the USA.
